I’m excited to be September’s Writer-In-Residence at Open Book: Toronto. Stay tuned for posts about writers’ groups, five things I’ve learned about touring, what I wish I knew years ago about grant writing, and my homemade writing retreat (just add water!).
I’ll be highlighting some artists I think are fantastic, including Elizabeth Ruth, Elisha Lim and Vivek Shraya, and promoting some events and work that excite me.
This Writer-In-Residence is a guest blogging gig (4 posts per week), so check in regularly for new posts. And don’t be sending in your works in progress–it’s not that kind of residency (please!).
I’m looking forward to a couple of festival appearances this fall:
Word on the Street (Toronto), Sunday September 25th, 11am. I’ll be part of a panel called, “Toronto as Muse: Books Inspired by the City We Love”. Click here for more info about this fabulous event.
Vancouver International Writers’ Festival, Saturday October 22, 2pm and 8pm. I’ll be on two different panels. Check out the fest’s full schedule here.
If you’re in either of these cities, I hope to see you there!
I’m excited to be part of a unique queer west lit event happening next week at Another Story Bookstore on Roncesvalles. Zoe Whittall, Vivek Shraya and I will read from our recent works, and then offer the audience writing prompts in a workshoppy setting.
